O'Reilly's apply for manure
spreader patents.
Goodhue, Minnesota May
1973-Joseph and Daniel
O'Reilly ("The O'Reilly's")
announce this month the
application for 2 patents on
their ORBILT manure
spreader. The
southeaster Minnesota
Father/Son duo have been
designing this original
piece of farm equipment for
over 1.5 years.
"We'll debut it at the state
fair, and see what kind of
reception we get" says Dan
O'Reilly. "We believe
with over 300 fewer moving
parts, and the self cleaning
lined box it will be a
definite advantage for
farmers. We are
excited about the
possibilities."

John Deere buys O'Reilly
patents.
Goodhue, Minnesota June
1975-Deere Inc. announced
today it had purchased the
patent rights from
inventors/manufacturers
Joseph and Daniel O'Reilly
of their popular ORBILT
manure spreader. The
deal allows The O'Reilly's
to continue to build the
original ORBILT spreader
while John Deere continues
testing it's ORBILT based
Hydra-Push spreader.
"We are pleased to be
aligning ourselves with the
industry leader" says Dan
O'Reilly. "Their
experience and worldwide
market will allow tens of
thousands of farmers and
agricultural operations to
benefit from the advances
realized by the ORBILT
patents."

John Deere Hydra-Push
reaches 30,000 units and One
Quarter Billion $ in
worldwide sales
Moline, Illinois July
1988-Deere Inc. announced
this month that it's
Hydra-Push manure spreader
has now reached over 30,000
units in worldwide sales.
The decade old manure
spreader continues to be a
best seller since it's 1978
debut.
Local inventor Dan O'Reilly,
who invented the Hydra-Push
based ORBILT with father
Joseph, is pleased with the
results. "John Deere
is able to utilize their
strength in brand
recognition and superior
reputation to bring the
(ORBILT) to the masses.
We are continually proud of
our contribution and
relationship."

Kevin O'Reilly joins
O'Reilly Manufacturing
Goodhue, Minnesota June
1990-Kevin O'Reilly,
grandson of the late
inventor Joseph O'Reilly and
son of O'Reilly
Manufacturing head Dan
O'Reilly, has joined the
company as production
manager.
"This is an exciting time to
be joining the family
business," says Kevin.
"We are starting to design
time saving skid steer
attachments to compliment
our agricultural equipment.
We have great years ahead in
this market."
